Question by : will boise state move up on the bcs ranking if they win today?
If boise state wins today vs Utah st, will they move up in the bcs rankings? some of the teams in front of them have a 10-2 and 11-1 record if boise wins they’ll be 11-1 so shouldn’t they move up?

strength of schedule will kill them
so they will be behind most 11-1 teams, and sevearl 10-2 teams
the loss to nevada killed them
a win over Utah State wont be enought to make a difference, there is 0% chance of an NC, and less than a 5% chance of bcs for them…tcu is going to get the at large bid from the small conferences
and tcus season is over, so there is no chance of boise getting their spot

Nope, they don’t have enough quality wins. The loss to Nevada blew their chances at respect. I would have loved to see them go undefeated so they could demand some respect but they lost to a ranked team that is not too highly regarded. Maybe they will find a way into a good conference. Their move to the WAC is useless, especially since TCU is leaving
Not likely. They have a weak schedule and don’t deserve to be ranked higher. There are probably 30+ FBS teams who could run up a 11-1 record with their schedule.

It won’t matter anyway because the only Non-AQ team the BCS has to take is TCU so and they aren’t going to get an at-large so they are looking at a very early bowl game in december.
They might but they will not move up enough to get one of the BCS games. Seven of the schools ranked higher than BSU have completed their schedule and even if both Oregon and Auburn lose today they will not drop out of the top ten. The only team that could lose today and fall out of grace is Oklahoma. If the folks in power at Boise State know, like the rest of us, that their conference schedule is killing any credibility they have, they will do all in their power to get into a BCS conference. But the only conference that would even consider them would be the Big East and the travel distances would kill BSU.

first off, it doesn’t even matter how high they move up. second, they wont move up just because they are playing utah state. if anything, they’ll probably get passed some more, drop a spot or two. i can see the big east winner getting a big push from the computers just so it doesn’t look so bad for them (ranking wise) in the bcs game they’re in.
