Question by Marika H: What’s Boise, Idaho like? I’m getting ready to move there?
I’ve been offered a job in Boise, and really can’t afford to turn it down, but I’ve never been to Idaho in my life! Could anyone here give me their opinions, observations, etc about Boise? Just give me a general idea of what to expect! I’ve already looked online, and it looks so much cheaper than where I am now, I really can’t believe it! Thanks!

Only passed through Boise, never stayed there. It seemed rather boring to me.

Several people I know have moved from the Portland area to live there for:
* superior public schools
* good area for raising a family
* drier climate
* lower cost of living
If you can’t believe what the rest of the country thinks are reasonable prices, I bet you’re in California or Florida….
Boise has a great mall
it does have a low cost of living
it is pretty dry
there is good skiing in Idaho
