BSU would be a good fit and would join in a heartbeat. Why hasn’t the Big 12 offered? Are they scared?

It’s more likely a matter of the Big East beating them to the punch. The Big East is more desperate to keep their numbers up (as evidenced by inviting several teams like Boise that make NO sense geographically), and they are surely excited about joining a Big East conference where they would probably immediately become the best team. It isn’t a logical move, but it will make Boise some good cash.
