Question by : Why do people always mention the Boise State/Oklahoma game when speaking BCS busters…?
…when Utah much more recently hammered Bama in the Sugar Bowl- a virtual SEC home game?
Oklahoma was missing 6 top starters and had a WR playing QB against Boise. They wouldn’t even have been in a BCS Bowl if Texas hadn’t been upset by a lousy A&M team. Still it took 4-5 ,iracle plays at the end for Boise to pull out a 1 point win.
Utah dominated a top 10-1 Bama team from start to finish. That should be the game that proves the Mountain West should be a BCS conference.

Because it’s much more fun to pick on Choklahoma.
Utah also beat Pitt in a BCS Bowl.. the utes are more dominate than Boise with TCU not far behind. I still think the mountain west is better than the ACC and the Big East
Alabama was missing 2 starting olinemen. stop crying
Because BSU was a more exciting game. Utah hammered Bama. Utah is 2-0 in BCS bowls. You forgot to mention Bama went on to win the NC the following year, and went undefeated, too. I think that is very relevant in the BCS buster conversation.
Bam does have a point, though.
because boise st destroyed oklahoma. hahaha, nice one, trying to lessen the sting of the loss by saying oklahoma lost because 6 crappy players didnt play. boise st would beat the crap out of oklahoma 10 times out of 10 times back then and 10 times out of 10 times today.
Isn’t it funny how they always mention that game to try to get Boise in the BCS Championship game every year. Should Florida be ranked higher since they have won 2 championships recently. No!!! Each year to its own.
It was the first one. The Utah win came second. The Boise win was pretty bizarre as well, which helps. I agree the Utah win was more impressive though. Boise was pretty lucky to win.
