Question by Tomas Mora: Should I relocate to Boise, Idaho?
I´m married and have two sons. I’ve been offered a job with a major semicondutor company located in Boise. I currently live in Southern California. Should I stay or should I go?
My wife takes care of our 4 and 1 year olds.

  1. I would say get out of SoCal!!
What does your spouse do? How old are your children? These are things that will obviously affect your decision. But in my opinion being anywhere besides California has got to be a good thing!

  2. Get ready for snow. I wish I could get on there.

  3. the answer is in your heart. How does if affect your family both positive and negative. There is more to a move than money. The school systems. Crime, The enviroment you will be placing your family. Carefully consider all options and consequences. Consult your wife and children. Pray ! and take your time~ God bless and Good luck

  4. Ultimately, it’s up to you, but I would recommend it anyway! Boise is a beautiful area, has all four seasons, is quite affordable to live in, has a major university (although I’m an Idaho fan, not Boise State!), lots of outdoor recreation, a pretty good school system, and a lot of people with high family values. It is very easy to fly in and out of Boise, so traveling or having visitors is not a problem. The only reason I don’t live there is that my husband and I don’t want to live near my father! :)

    Good luck in your decision!

  5. I live in Boise (moved here 2 years ago) and love it!
Boise is a great small city with a lot of big city offerings. We have great restaurants, great wilderness nearby and a great small city feel. Business here is booming, and the area continues to grow.
If you’re coming from Southern California, I think you’ll love how affordable it is to live here… And, the winters are not that bad. We’ve had 2 days of snow so far this season, and both times, everything was pretty much melted the next day.
My husband and I love it here and think it is a great place to raise a family. There is a lot of opportunity here, and the community is friendly and close knit. I think you would probably love it here!
