  1. I’ll give it to BSU despite their weak schedule. Why? They won all of their games. It’s as simple as that. Not many teams can keep it going day in, and day out, but BSU did. The only possible thing that would make BSU’s rank higher would be running up the score. So BSU was basically perfect this season. OSU was not. Teams that get the BCS bid should be the closest to perfection. And that would be BSU

  2. Big 10 = Weakest conference in football
I think Boise St. would win, they beat Oklahoma St. a few years ago, and the Big 12 is the second best conference in the nation.

  3. Boise State has beaten the big boys before so I can’t say they are less deserving than Ohio State. I think the OSU would be more entertaining IF they show up. The Buckeyes have more star players and would likely match up better with whatever BCS team they are matched up against.

I seem to think there will be a Alabama vs Ohio State Sugar Bowl & well be hearing the same story lines from last year (OSU is 0-9 vs SEC in bowl games but the seniors are trying to shake the monkey off their back).

I think if Boise State plays its more of a question of is whatever BCS team that plays them gonna get caught up in the quirky gadget plays or if they will blow them out (like they did the last WAC champ).

  4. OSU lost to the only two good teams they played, USC and Penn State. Strength of schedule only helps if you win a few of your hard games. I’ll take Boise State‘s win over Oregan and an undefeated season over OSU’s win over Michigan State as evidence that Boise State deserves it more.

As for your big fan base, you are drinking too much capitalist cool aid my friend. Bowl games should be determined by the better team not the bigger $ . Unfortunately it doesn’t work that way so OSU will get a BCS bowl game and Boise State will not.

  5. bsu will not go b/c they have a field that is blue

  6. I think that Ohio State will get into the Fiesta Bowl over Utah. Utah will then head to the Sugar Bowl. The point is that Ohio State is to good of a program with roots to deep in college football history to be left out. The Ohio State fans travel well, and buy lots of tickets (which makes all the difference). The Fiesta Bowl will be happy to match up an angry Texas team with Ohio State. Are they better than BSU on a neutral field? It would be a good game, we’ll never know though. We need a playoff, then we would know.

  7. Boise State No Doubt they had a perfect season yeah in a weaker schedule.Move Boise State to the Big 10 and divide the conference into 2 and have a conference championship game.

  8. First of all, let me say… I don’t think Boise St. is all that. They are a decent team but, not National Champion caliber. A win two years ago against an down Oklahoma team on a couple of gimmick plays does not mean all of a sudden that BSU is some juggernaut. They have a great record in a weak conference. They barely beat Oregon(in OR. granted). Thats it. Now, having said that, I think they should be above Ohio St. this year because Ohio St. is even less impressive.

  9. As an Ohio State fan I have to say Boise State. They went undefeated, and we had some scary looking games this year. They deserve the shot this time.

  10. Buckeyes of course

the only two losses are to a #1 team which obviously was NOT an impressive game for the Buckeyes, and the #3 team which they held to 13 points.

Boise state beat one ranked team a #17 team and beat them by 5 points that’s not that impressive.

  11. Hook 'Em Horns

BSU because they are undefeated and Ohio State has 2 loses.

  12. I believe Ohio State would get the spot, because they lost to two highly ranked teams. When they lost to USC they were without their best player on the team and USC was ranked #1. Jim Tressel also played both QB’s which was a mistake, he should have put Pryor in and left him in. They are a much improved team with him playing. The second game was against Penn State and they held them to 13 points. As far as the past, playing a good team a few years ago and winning is meaningless. This season is what counts. Boise State is undefeated and should get kudos for that, but they also have a weaker schedule. Ohio State with Pryor and a healthy Beanie Wells would crush Boise State.

Ohio State will get the bid due to their high fan base, their strength of schedule, and their big money draw. I personally do not believe that Boise State would be undefeated in any other conference, even as some say the weak Big 10.

I believe it’ll come down to what bowl game is chosen. If the decision for these two teams is for the sugar bowl then undoubtedly Ohio will go cause they are way closer and would bring a ton more fans. But if it’s an option for the Fiesta bowl Boise is much closer and they had a great turnout in 2006. I was there and it was intense. Furthermore, putting the cinderella team back into the Fiesta bowl game would bring a huge tv rating.
