Question by ChAneL: i’m getting nervous and i need advice 
?
i’m a high school senior from a small town in oregon and my first choice college is washington state university 
go cougs! i’m just nervous i’m gonna get home sick living 7 hours away. i have a good friend who is now a freshman at boise state and he loves it there. anyone have similar stories? how hard is it being that far away from home?

How close are you to your family?
I honestly think the level of homesickness depends on how well you acclimate to your environment and how well you form close ties to your environment over there. If you fit in well, make close friends, then you won’t be home sick. If you don’t fit in immediately and it takes longer to make friends, then I can imagine that you would become home sick.
Are there any choices that are more close – like 4 hours away? Something that you could reasonably drive if you had too?
