Only kidding (sort of). Currently, there is a very cold weather pattern in the eastern U.S., especially the southern part. This is not normal. I live in central California and I would expect to have colder weather at this time of the year than Tampa, but that isn’t the case right now.
We need to understand that weather is not all that reliable and it does do weird things at times.
Tampa is usually much warmer than other parts of the U.S. What you’re experiencing is a temporary cold snap. It’s 29 degrees F here in Chicago right now and we have about 8 inches of snow on the ground. Sometimes the south must experience what we always do here in the Midwest. Be thankful that you don’t have the snow or you’d really be in trouble. Tampa has no snow plows (like Dallas which just had 12 inches of snow), so you’re really very lucky.
