Question by : How can any sensible college football fan make an argument for Boise over a one loss AQ conference team?
If Oregon beats Stanford and Oklahoma beats OK State. Then I think the debate should be who is more deserving (Bama, Stanford, or Oklahoma). Boise State is undefeated but their strength of schedule is garbage. They only beat one team who is ranked in the top 20 and they will have played 5 teams with losing records. Therefore it does make sense for the BCS system and the voters to also consider SOS in addition to record.

Lets say you are the AD of Ohio State, and need to go unbeaten to make the title game. Why would you schedule Boise State instead of Akron? It does nothing but hurt you, you can make the title game based on the strength of your conference. Georgia might have an outside shot at a national title game had they not scheduled the Broncos.
Boise’s been stuck in the MWC/WAC for a while due to their lack of other sports. In football, all Boise State does is win. Period. They deserve a shot. Or better yet, a spot in a playoff.

Im sorry but Boise would never go undefeated in any AQ conference (maybe the Big East). Playing tough teams week in and week out takes such a toll on your team, it just wouldn’t happen. Look at the Big 12. Oklahoma destroys Texas, Tech Beats Oklahoma, Texas destroys Tech.
