Question by CSnumber1: Florida State Football… FInal AP poll no. 3???? Are you kidding me? What do you think?
Ok..firstly, I am a diehard Alabama Football Fan. But how in anybody’s mind could a team that was ranked number one for the entire year pretty much, who completely crushed Cincinnati (4) who was ranked in front of Florida St. (5) after Florida St lost to who….Alabama, the number one team in the land not be ranked number 2! TCU ranked in front of Florida St. at number 4, lost to number 6 Boise State. The highest ranked team that TCU,Boise St, Cincinnati played during the regular season, was ranked no higher than no 5. That team was no where in the top 15 at the beginning of the bowl season. Texas quarterback Colt McCoy how ever unfortunate it was for him not to play the entire game, couldn’t get the ball in the endzone with two possessions in the redzone against Alabama. Against any top 20 team, McCoy’s stats dropped dramatically. Against any good defense Texas’s offense was stymied. So I ask you…how is Florida St. who plays in the SEC who had more teams in bowl games than any other conference not be ranked number 2 ??? Who out there really thinks Texas could beat Florida St.? Do you think pollsters gave Texas the number 2 nod because of Colt McCoy’s unfortunate injury?

Ok so now can every answer the question….I had just wrote a piece on Florida St for a mag the other day and still had ‘St.’ in my fingers.

I’m confused. Florida is. #3. Florida State isn’t even in the top 25.

But if you mean Florida should be ahead of Texas you have a valid argument, but I think the voters are giving Texas credit for playing decently with a frosh QB.

I agree with you that Florida is probably better than Texas, but nobody is going to care 2nd place is only the 1st loser.
