Question by : Does anybody know of any places in BOISE IDAHO that will help with buying a bus ticket?
My mom is getting a protection order against her husband, but the police haven’t found him yet, a good friend of ours offered to move back here to Idaho from Colorado to stay with us, and make sure we’re safe. My mom and I live in a trailer alone, and have no income and no money to pay for a bus ticket though, so if anyone knows of any places(churches, etc.) that help with that kind of stuff please let me know ASAP.

I think you may be asking in the wrong place. The Travel – Canada section of Yahoo! Answers is not going to have much local resources. I don’t think that there are many Canadians who are very familiar with organizations in Boise Idaho.

Here are my suggestions:

If you have a church near you, you can go to them and ask to speak with someone. Give them the details and see if they can suggest a local organization that would be able to help.

The other option would be if you cannot afford to get a bus ticket for the family friend, ask the friend if they can just buy the ticket themselves, and you or Mom will pay them back as soon as you can raise the money and afford it. Keep in mind that if your family currently has no income, how are you going to afford to feed another mouth at the table?

My best suggestion is to get help locally. Have the police on speed dial, ask neighbors in the trailers around you to be on the lookout for your father’s car or truck, or to alert someone if they happen to see him coming around. Keep your doors and windows locked at night. Make sure you and your mom travel with a group when possible, so he can never get her or you alone.

I would even say if he knows where you live and you are truly afraid because he is violent or threatened your mom, you should move. There are places that offer protection for domestic violence.

You can call the Idaho Council on Domestic Violence and Victim Assistance at 1-800-291-0463, to see if they have any advice or can provide assistance.

Or you can check out for any shelters in the area. These places have locking doors, security at a front desk, and can protect you until you get settled in a new area and start over away from him.

Good luck to you and your mom!
