Question by Donnie: BCS National Championship Game?
How is this years BCS gonna pan out?

Here’s my predictions…

#1 Oregon – I’m thinking Oregon will either lose to Arizona or Oregon St. It’s only a matter of time before coach’s begin to catch on to that “high-flying” offense that consists of James and… James.

#2 Auburn – Auburn is going to lose to Bama. It’ll be a good game, but Bama wins it. And it’s the final game of the regular season which’ll squash any chances for a National Title run. But if they somehow get past Bama, it’ll set up a BIG game against either Florida (whom they didn’t play this year) or S Carolina (whom they narrowly beat) in the SEC Championship game. Either way, they don’t finish undefeated. No one does that in the SEC.

#3 TCU – If TCU beats Utah (which’ll be a heck of a game) they will inevitably finish undefeated, yet again.. but, to get into the National Championship game (well deserved at that point, they will need some help from somewhere else.)

#4 Boise St – If Va Tech continues winning and if Oregon St beats up on Oregon, that’ll give ALOT of creditability to those wins on Boise’s schedule. It could give them enough of a boost to get into the title game. But then again, they still gotta showdown with Nevada (who looks mighty good this year). Boise, more than any other team, deserves a title shot. They are a fun team to watch and they’d give the fans exactly what we crave. As long as they ain’t matched up against TCU, again.

#5 Utah – if Utah can beat TCU, i forsee a let-down game the following week against Notre Dame. They’ll be on the road and coming off a huge win, it’s only natural (refer to S. Carolina). But if it doesn’t happen then, it’ll happen against BYU. BYU always gives them a run for their money.

#6 Alabama – Whew, what a tough schedule they’ve had, and still have to come. at #10 LSU, then at home against Miss St and they’ve got Auburn at home. If they survive all those games (which I think they will) they will be poised for another SEC Championship game. But against who? S Carolina or Florida? I don’t see S Carolina beating them again, but I can see Florida getting a bit of revenge.. Somewhere along the way, Alabama will lose, or they will be in the National Title game.

#7 Nebraska – They looked good last week. But who loses to Texas anymore? I think Texas A&M will give them all the game they want and more. If not, they’ll lose to the winner of the OU and Baylor game in the Big 12 Championship.

#8 Oklahoma – Luckily they got Texas Tech at home, but Baylor on the road will be a good match-up. Robert Griffin it getting better every week (if that’s possible). If they get past Baylor, and win the Big 12 Championship, they’ll leap frog all those “non-BCS” teams and play Alabama for the National Title.

#9 Wisconsin – They’ll lose to Michigan. It’s a game in The Big House and Robinson’ll run wild on em. “nuff said.

#10 LSU – They’ll lose this week to Bama. If not, they’ll lose to Arkansas. Or both. Arkansas on the road’ll be a tough test for them. It’ll be Ryan Mallets final home game of his college career and he’ll put up some BIG time numbers.

Best case scenario – I forsee a Boise State – Alabama BCS National Title match-up. I think Va Tech will continue to roll, Oregon St will beat up on Oregon (it’s a home game) and that’ll give the voters all they need to put Boise in the game they’ve been deserving the past three years. I think Alabama will beat Auburn (which’ll squash their dreams) and they’ll win the SEC Championship game, hands down. The BCS National Championship game will be a dandy. But I think with all of Boise’s trickery, over a month to prepare for it, and all the emotion they’ll be riding into that game, they’ll come out on top, 28 – 24. They’ll do a fake field goal in the final seconds (for the tie) and they’ll get the touchdown without a Bama player ready for it.

  1. There is only one NCAA Division I national championship, and that is the Division I FCS championship played in Chattanooga every year. The BCS system is a fraud. The FCS has a genuine playoff system. The BCS farce is a contest between the two most popular teams – a glorified beauty pageant.

    GO UMASS!

  2. No way TCU and Utah wind up #3 and #5. TCU deservedly so? LOL!
“… Nevada (who looks mighty good this year) …). LOL! Yeah in a second rate conference. Get real.

“… but Baylor on the road will be a good match-up.” LOL!

“… they’ll leap frog all those “non-BCS” teams …”. LOL! No way can they get to the NC. Note. Every team in the FBS is a BCS team. The WAC and the MWC are members of the BCS. LOL!

“#9 Wisconsin – They’ll lose to Michigan. …”. LMAO! Get real.

Oregon St. beating Oregon? LOL! Upsets can happen but no chance here. LOL!

As far as Boise St. winning the NC. LMAO! Those trick plays may work against a poorly coached Oklahoma or WAC turkey where players overplay by playing the ball and not staying home but that crap won’t work against a Saban coached team. LMAO!

  3. I like what you’re saying but AU will be a tough game for sure for Bama. Oregon has looked awesome this year and I don’t know if anyone can beat them. My pick for BCS champ AU over Oregon 42-35.

  4. ” they’ll lose to Arkansas. Or both. Arkansas on the road’ll be a tough test for them”. Nice to see you have come around to notice Arkansas does compete lol

Now on a more serious note, I can see what your saying on all of those, Nebraska looked good indeed but it’s not like Mizzou didn’t have a chance there at the end, they jumped out early and were just able to hold on late, Texas and Oklahoma State made their defense look not so great, they will lose to OU in the Big XII title

I got Lsu finishing in 4th in the west with loses to Bama and Arkansas

  5. You sure did do a lot of typing and a little bit of research too and you only could come up with such a piss-poor conclusion that Boise State was going to win the NC game. You certainly wasted your effort on this one.

  6. I believe Auburn and Oregon will win out with their high octane offenses and play for it all with Oregon winning 49-45.

  7. I almost completely agree.

I think the BCS Championship game will be Alabama vs Boise State or TCU (if the computers can keep on offsetting voter common sense that Boise State is the best team in the country).

Long story short its the Iron Bowl winner vs the winner of the humans vs the computers in the BCS none AQ battle.
