Question by dr521: See a UFO lately?
A few years ago, I saw a UFO on a deserted highway right outside (south) of Boise, Idaho at night. It crossed the highway may be about 100 ft overhead in a slow descent, as though an airliner was coming in for a landing. Only it was a huge ball of flame. Not your typical UFO, I know. It wasn’t a meteor, because I didn’t hear an explosion soon afterwards. It was such a huge ball of flame, that if it were a meteor, I would definitely have heard a huge explosion. Any idea on what it was?
The answer from freedd sounds good, but this UFO seemed really close, as if I were standing at the edge of a runway at an airport, watching an airliner coming in for a landing.

That would be the Infamous Hot Potato coursing its way to the Great Tater Pits of southern Idaho…..annual occurrence, well known to locals.

Could have been a meteor, should have tried to find it some places pay good money for them.
I’ve heard that the desert is a good place to find them because they are just laying on the ground.

often meteors look really big and look as though they landed really close but in fact they are the size of a grain of sand and burn up far above the ground.
