Question by Ehehdogeh: About living in Idaho?
I got the state travel guide, but I want the real scoop. Based on average temps, I think Southwestern (Boise) or South Central (Twin Falls) are where I’d want to live. We would need to live in or near a largish city. My husband works with elevators and I work in technology support.
How are winters there? I’m from Wisconsin so you can be honest with me. It can’t be worse, can it?
How are summers? Are they humid or dry? What about bugs? Is it also known as the “skeeter state?” How windy is it? Rainfall, snowfall?
What’s the worst part about living there? What are things you don’t want to do or say there? What kind of music do natives listen to?
I don’t want to hear all the rosy stuff, I want to know the worst Idaho has to offer so I can make an informed choice. And speaking of which, how are interracial marriages perceived? What about Mexicans?

Southwest Idaho is not as cold as Wisconsin, but they do gets lots of snow. My son live in the northern part and last year they had about 12 feet of snow on their property. That is why snow skiing is so great there as well as all winter sports. The cities are mostly liberal, but the country areas are more Conservative. I have not seen a lot of mexican there, but I haven’t been to the Boise area for some time. I feel the worst thing about Idaho is the cold weather, but hey, your from Wisconsin, so it should be no problem for you.
